Tennis
Courts
The Club has eight en-tout-cas tennis courts. All of these are equipped with
lights and may be utilized for night tennis.
The Club's courts are heavily committed in approved tennis play at night (after
7pm) during the week. Courts 1 to 5 are reserved for Night Tennis Competition on
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. All Courts 1 to 8 are reserved on Wednesday for
Night Social Tennis. (Court 6 can be used for Coaching.) All courts are
generally freely available on Friday night.
There is in general no system of booking courts for day-time use. Therefore,
Members have the right to use the courts on a first come first served basis,
subject to the following provisos - competition games have precedence over all
other games;
some courts may be unavailable for general use due to coaching activities, or
other approved uses (such arrangements will be indicated on the notice board);
on week-ends, Full Playing members and Junior members have precedence over
Provisional Playing members (Junior members have the same playing rights as Full
Playing Members);
if all courts are full, doubles games have precedence over singles games.
However, players already on court are permitted to commence and complete a set
before having to vacate a court;
Members shall not play more than one set consecutively if players of equal right
are waiting. However, Members have no right to wait on a court already occupied
if there is available a vacant court elsewhere.
A system of booking applies to the use of court lights for play between the
hours of 5pm and 10pm, seven days of the week provided they are not already
reserved for approved uses as in paragraph (1) above or reserved for Tennis
Coaching. Bookings may be made up to one week in advance by telephoning or
calling in at the Clubhouse during Bar opening hours. A booking fee of $8.80 per
hour is payable, and must be paid in the Bar if open prior to the start of play,
or at the end of play when the bar is not open at the start.
Members have an obligation to assist in the proper maintenance of the tennis
courts. In particular, courts must be “bagged” after each set of play, watered
if necessary, and “bagged” prior to players leaving the court.

Squash
Court
The Club has a single squash court, located at the western end of the
Clubhouse. The court is available to Members (in all categories) for social and
competition play.
Competition play has precedence over other games. See under “Competitions” for
the times of competition play.
Social squash play is subject to a booking system. The court may be booked up to
one week in advance. Bookings should be made by telephoning or calling in at the
Clubhouse during Bar opening hours. Payment for use of the squash court is via a
coin-in-the-slot meter.
Bookings may be made for no more than four players to use the court for a
maximum period of two hours, with none of these players being permitted to book
the court for a further consecutive period.

Coaching
Grace Park has a professional tennis coach, Terry Stone, who is permitted
use of Club courts for the purpose of coaching Members and non-members.
During school terms, three courts are utilised during weekdays for the coaching
of school children, from 4pm to 7pm. Two courts are also required for coaching
on Sunday mornings (9am to 12pm).
During vacation periods, a number of intensive tennis clinics are arranged for
junior and senior players. These are generally of five days duration. Advance
notice of the conduct of these clinics is displayed on the Club notice-board. In
addition to the above, Members and non-members may arrange private lessons.
Persons interested in coaching should contact Mr. Stone on 9889 7102.
NOTE:- Tennis Coaching is not permitted by anyone anywhere on the Club's
property except at or under the direction of the Club's Official Coach Terry
Stone.
